THE STORY THAT STARTED IT ALL
A Memoir of Renewed Hope.
I couldn’t have chosen a better subtitle.
My memoir is the story of the toughest experiences of my life to date, but also the happiest. I recount how a series of events made me lose faith, the worst of which eventually led me to a path of renewed hope.
I also go back in time and talk about my childhood to contextualize some of my mental health struggles.
Below is the official book description.
CONTENT WARNING: This book contains material that may be distressing to some readers: depression, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks.
My memoir is the story of making a dream I didn’t know I had come true.
In Dreams Come True and Mine Will Too: A Memoir of Renewed Hope, I share my turbulent and profound journey of self-discovery. From my childhood to my life as an international student and immigrant in the U.S. and Canada, I dive into the key experiences that shaped then reframed my identity. It all starts with a dream I had when I was fifteen years old, the pursuit of which ultimately taught me the biggest lesson of my life.
This book also recounts my mental health struggles and my imperfect walk of faith. Darkness and pain punctuate my life over the years, persistently leading me back to an all too familiar place. I invite you into my most vulnerable moments as I reconnect with the ways I processed my feelings as a child.
After more than a decade of pursuing an old dream, I finally give myself permission to let it go and continue the journey by embracing the new.

The Playlist
Here are a few songs I (re)discovered over the years that comforted me. I listened to all of them while writing my memoir and mentioned a few in it.
The first five are ranked by order of preference. Well... not exactly. My favorite song is actually #3: it encapsulates my feelings on the years of my life I wrote about. However, I think songs #1 and #2 fit that ranking better. Once you've read The Book, you'll understand why.
I start off slow with hope-rebuilding songs and end on a more cheerful note. Songs #23 to #25 are a tribute to my mom (she is still alive, and I wouldn't have it any other way).
I love all the songs on this playlist, but each one has a specific memory attached to it. The series The Stories Behind The Playlist recounts the memories behind each song.
Some stories are covered in more detail in my memoir, while others are separate but complementary to my book.
